Meet the person behind the idea

Kim Davis runs a successful language school in County Durham and she is a busy working mum, with 2 very active, energetic daughters. Once upon a time, she ran (and trained) to get faster but now, with a young family and a business, running serves a very different purpose. Running is about fun, fitness and wellbeing and it helps her to cope when the going gets tough.

The decision to set up LinguaRun was inspired by Kim’s desire to connect people similar to herself who have a love of running and languages. It also stems from the enjoyment that she gets from running with others. After flying through her England Athletics Run Leader training in November 2025, Kim launched ‘LinguaRun Consett’. Her group now attracts runners from within her language school as well as from the wider community - and the weekly sessions are proving to be a big success.

As well as promoting exercise, social meet ups and language learning - for people of all running and linguistic abilities - Kim is promoting LinguaRun as a social movement, where people can come together both in-person and online and share the joys and frustrations of running and language learning.

The message from Kim and the LinguaRun mantra is simple: Run. Talk. Connect!

It’s time to connect

This is what Kim’s community looks like…..
